Globacom has added another premium Nigerian musician, the “fada-fada” crooner, Azubuike Chibuzo Nelson popularly known as Phyno to its list of mega brand ambassadors. Rapper Ice Prince, has revealed just how happy and proud he is to be a Nigerian artiste at the moment. The ABOKI crooner, speaking with Sunday Scoop , first dished out some advise for upcoming artistes saying: “I believe that everybody can make it. I’m not the finest boy and I am not the most educated but I’m here today. Even the northern part of the country where I come from is not so entertainment inclined and one may be tempted to conclude that no music star can come out of that region. My Hit Song Johnny Was Released by Mistake - Yemi Alade

Amazing performer, Yemi Alade, needs little or no introduction. The MAMA Africa crooner, in a new interview with Sunday Scoop, revealed that her hit track Johnny, which set hearts racing, body moving and recognition increasing, was actually released by mistake. According to Miss Alade, if the song had not first been leaked online, she may never have released it. In her words: “I was in the studio with Selebobo and we were just goofing around trying to come up with a nice sound. The first line for the song just came out playfully and I continued. I never thought that it would become a hit and if not that the song was leaked, I may never have released it.” Miss Alade, also talked about her heritage, saying being Igbo and Yoruba, is of great advantage to her. “You cannot underestimate the importance and role of tribes in Nigeria as it is taken very seriously. As an Artiste you are to understand what music is, and what the music business is. The Nigerian Music Industry has developed so much so that people earn a living from music, to the point that artistes’ like Wizkid can afford to buy a Porche which goes for over 50million Naira without having to call on Mummy and Daddy. If you have the mindset that music is business, then you will think like a business man. In business we invest to get returns, and so it is with music. No record label will want to sign someone that has not developed a brand for himself that they can invest in. In an interview with Audu Maikori, president of Chocolate City he said “For you to get into Chocolate City system, you really must have worked on yourself. Like some of the artistes we are considering now, they are people that have been doing their own thing. You can’t walk up to me and say you are an artiste and you want a record deal with just two Facebook likes or followers, I won’t take you seriously. People ar
